SANTIAGO, ILOCOS SUR

Sabangan Cove

About 200 meters from the national road (5 mins or so) Went here a million times since my Aunts husband's from here. Peaceful and mystic place. Off-white sand and very clean. There are fisher boats around and you can rent them. I think the nearby hotel have banana boats and other mini boats you can ride on by yourself. Cottages there are own by the carinderias/stores around you can just ask them if they have available cots and prices are negotiable too (Php 100-200). From the cove you can view the newly built  Santorini-like hotel and they have zip-line (sorry we didn't go there kasi) but we'll try when we get back!

SALCEDO, ILOCOS SUR

Kakalkaldingan / Bago Resort
About 20 mins from main road (via Candon City) or about 30 mins (via Sta. Lucia, Ilocos Sur). This is the very first man-made pool with natural spring water in the Province of Ilocos Sur. It has two pools (for kids & adults) and is chlorine-free. The natural spring water is coming from the falls of Mount Madarang. The water is flowing so it's really clean. There are cottages and tables for people who are visiting. You can also cook your own food or bring your own, it can work either way. Feel free to bring your own drinks too if you want and the entrance fee is wallet-friendly, Php 30-40 per head or sometimes free! The cottage and table's rent range is Php 50-150.00 only. The Grand Buaya River is also a few steps down the resort so if you feel like it, feel free to go. And the Bago Falls of Mount Madarang is an hour hike from the resort if you're feeling adventurous! The mountains of Madarang, Baybayading and Kinmarin are very nice spots for hikers and has been visited frequently by trekkers and mountaineers since it is the gateway leading to the historical sites of Tirad Pass! The man-made woods surrounding the pools adds sophistacation to the ambiance and it'll give you the feeling of trying something new.
